CORONAVIRUS

For the sake of our local community it is important that all Covid-19 social distancing rules are observed, so we would expect that you would not be having visitors during your stay until such time as isolation rules allow.

Beautifully decorated and consistently described by guests as wonderfully comfortable and manageable, this vacation rental home is the perfect spot to create life long memories. Montecito and Santa Barbara are where the Hollywood Stars escape for the weekend. Positioned between mountains and sea, with world-class golf courses, miles of outstanding hikes, wineries, beaches, terrific food and endless views - there is good reason why it is known as the American Riviera.

An antique gateway opens to reveal a beautiful home surrounded by an expansive terrace and entertainment area, the focal point of this house. Well furnished with chaise lounges, comfortable sofas and an olive-shaded eating area, the long terrace overlooks the  lush terraced gardens and pool area.  It is the perfect place to spend time enjoying the expansive views,  sipping sundowners or having brunch with friends and family in Santa Barbara’s temperate climate.

This is our home for some of the year as well as a vacation rental. So it is in a different league from most vacation rentals. Exceedingly comfortable, beautifully furnished with high quality finishes, european bedding, a gourmet kitchen and much much more.

Beautifully decorated and consistently described by guests as wonderfully comfortable and manageable, this home is the perfect spot to create life long memories.  Inside, original paintings by European artists, antique Moroccan and Mexican doors and terra-cotta terazza floors abound. To the right of the entrance hallway is the formal dining room, where one can dine surrounded by breathtaking paintings and one-of-a-kind antiques.  Just beyond the dining room is the large formal living room, with all of the creature comforts, including a working fireplace, two long couches,  a high-end Sonos system and an abundant and eclectic collection of books.  Leading off both these rooms is the large terrace with a retractable awning overlooking the ocean. Entertaining inside and out is the  way this house was designed to be enjoyed, in true California style with a european sense of flair and comfort.

The Great Room

THE HEART OF THE HOUSE

The dining room and foyer lead into the common gourmet-kitchen area and great room.  The great room features 14-foot vaulted ceilings and offers a space every one can enjoy, opening onto the rear terrace through large French doors.  It contains a seating area and a 70” flat screen television with  Apple TV, a Blue-Ray player, Sonos sound system and hundreds of DVD's for all ages  The dining area within the great room seats 10 guests comfortably, but can contract to a more compact size for smaller groups (8 illustrated). There is a central wi-fi station here, one of three that ensures strong coverage throughout the house.   

Both the Great Room and the adjoining gourmet kitchen are exceptionally well equipped as the owners are passionate about great food and easy  entertaining.

The Kitchen

Designed for gourmet cooks

The kitchen is stocked with any and all conceivable top-of-the-line large and small appliances. Viking double oven, Viking range, Sub Zero Fridge/ Freezer, two dishwashers (because one is never enough!), bar fridge, two prep areas, compactors, pots and pans, knives, K-Cup coffee machine and all utensils etc etc.  A large skylight illuminates the kitchen during the daytime, showcasing granite counter tops, and a sizable center island.

The house has been furnished with 12 place settings: wine glasses, plates, cutlery. In addition to its stunning views,  luxurious, comfortable furnishings and abundant amenities, the residence has an excellent housekeeper,   who comes once a week to tidy the house. The house is also well managed by a team who have been working there upwards of twenty years. 

 

The Master Suite

COMFORT & PRIVACY

The master suite is the absolute ideal of style, relaxation, and luxury.  There is a king-size oriental-style four poster bed, with a concealed flat-screen TV and a walk-in closet.   French doors lead onto its own private patio with a truly extraordinary ocean view. The Patio staircase take you on your own path to the pool and Jacuzzi.  

The master bath contains dual sinks, a large Jacuzzi tub, a TV, a sitting vanity area, private toilet, and glass-enclosed shower. The bathroom is light and bright, thanks to two large skylights, in addition to the windows.  

All of the bedrooms have pillow-top mattresses, high end european comforters and beautiful linen. Our guests constantly comment on the quality of the  beds and the fabulous nights sleep they get.

The Guest Rooms

HOME FROM HOME

 Two guest rooms on the far end of the house are situated just beyond the master suite, both have private entrances to the back patio area.  This additional master has a california-king bed and the other guest room is equipped with a queen four-poster bed  and  walk in closet.   Both rooms can be closed off from the rest of the house, creating a two-bedroom suite or  private  second master. These guest rooms share a beautiful and spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and separate glass-enclosed shower.
 
Two additional suite-style bedrooms are situated past the kitchen/great room area.  One has a Queen size bed,  en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower, a walk-in closet, looking onto the rear garden.  The other has a newly remodeled bathroom with shower, a flat screen TV and twin beds looking onto the sea view.

There is a separate Laundry room. And a separate powder room.

This house is under five minutes drive to the excellent shops, restaurants and beaches of  the upper and lower village of Montecito. Butterfly Beach, by the Four Seasons Biltmore, is a family favorite.  Public tennis courts are just two minutes from the house.   The many excellent golf courses of Montecito and Santa Barbara, are within a few minutes drive. The shopping and restaurants of the Funk Zone and Downtown Santa Barbara are six minutes away on the freeway.   Santa Barbara has three excellent movie theaters, two live theaters, shopping malls, a huge variety of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, jazz clubs, museum etc etc etc.

The renowned wine district  of saint Ynez is just 30 minutes drive.  Six Flags Magic Mountain is under an hour. The outlets are 20 minutes. Malibu is 40 minutes, Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Universal studios are 90 minutes.  We are served by two airports, an excellent small accessible local airport just 15 minutes away with all of the rental car companies and plenty of Ubers. LAX is a 90 minute drive and is served by a frequent air bus as well as all of the usual amenities.  

 


LOCAL GROCERIES

There is a great variety of local grocery stores in Montecito and Santa Barbara, as well as Farmer’s Markets and . Coast Village Road, at the bottom of the hill, has a grocery store, Starbucks, banks, pharmacy and an abundance of specialty stores. Here are links to a few essentials:

Vons Montecito - Two minutes from the house, at the end of Coast Village road. Useful for basic groceries and when you need something fast.

Trader Joes - Beloved by many, and only a five minute drive, down Milpas Street.

Sprouts Farmers Market - A new grocery store with a great fresh section.

Whole Foods - Up-market, up-town and always fabulous for the gourmet goodies we all love.

Gelsons - Alternative up-market groceries with an excellent butcher and fishmonger

RATES

If you are interested in booking or have any questions, please call or email to check availability and price for your preferred dates.  High season rates may apply for stays that include holiday periods such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.  High season is June through September.  

Prices will vary according to the length of time you wish to book and the time of year.  Cleaning, pool heating fees, pet fees and a damage deposit will be additional.

No events, parties, groups younger than 30 years of age.  Strictly limited to maximum of ten occupants.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Once a booking has been made, no refunds will be given, under any circumstances. We strongly suggest that you take out one of the many avilable vacation rental insurance policies to cover you in the event you need to cancel.

Heated swimming pool, with attached jacuzzi. pool-terrace with 8 sun loungers and a large Pawley's Island hammock. Please note: the pool is unfenced and may not be suitable for families with small children who may not be attended at all times.

Off-street parking for four cars.  Secure gate with security keypad and video monitoring.  Secluded private road.  Fully walled and fenced garden.

Our Housekeeper comes once a week, on Thursdays from 9:00 to 1:00. Additional visits may be possible by on request.

Baby and toddler paraphenalia is available to rent from http://www.sbbabyco.com, who provide an excellent service.

The house is approximately 3,600 Sq. Ft., on one floor, with excellent wheelchair or disabled access. The living area is in the center, with the Master and two other bedrooms at the far end, and teo further bedrooms on the nearside. The exterior terrave runs the length of the front.
